Haeckel's law
Закон биогенетический, рекапитуляция — закон, гласящий, что онтогенез есть краткое и быстрое повторение (в закономерно измененном и сокращенном виде) филогенеза, в ходе которого индивидуальное развитие служит источником новых направлений эволюции, отражающейся затем на онтогенезе. Повторение, т.е. рекапитуляция, в онтогенезе филогенетических черт может быть неполным, иметь определенные искажения, которые связаны с дальнейшими эволюционными преобразованиями и обусловливают их. Могут повторяться, в частности, особенности соответствующих фаз развития предковых форм. З. б. сформулирован Геккелем в 1866 г. на основании идей Ч. Дарвина и результатов исследований Ф. Мюллера, поэтому носит название биогенетического закона Геккеля, иногда Геккеля-Мюллера. В 1910 г. З. б. существенно уточнен А. Н. Северцовым, создавшим теорию филэмбриогенеза.
